Salon treatments can transmit hepatitis
Pamper your body at the salon with a variety of beauty treatments such as nail care or hair styling has become part of the lifestyle of most women. Although treatments that can improve self-confidence, but it turns out there are health dangers that lurk.
According to a recent report presented at the meeting of the American College of Gastroenterology 76th in Washington DC, USA, revealed the risk of transmission of hepatitis through the tools commonly used in the salon.
The tools can be a source of transmission of infection among other tools for manicure, pedicure, and a razor. According to Dr.David A. Johnson, a researcher, if not sterilized tools can be a gathering place for germs and even transmit blood-borne diseases such as hepatitis B and C.
“The key is in compliance with salon owners to clean and use disinfectant to prevent the spread of disease,” said Johnson, chairman of the gastroenterology division of the Eastern Virginia Medical School.
He added that the issue of infection by means of the salon is not new. Evaluation is done after the cases of acute hepatitis C infection who allegedly caused by treatments manicure / pedicure. In his research he analyzed 18 studies that say there is a possibility of transmission of hepatitis B and C of salon equipment.
Ensure that the tools used are sterile salon is a little difficult, but suggested that we bring Dr.Johnson menicure or pedicure tool itself, especially if you include people who likes to do treatments at the salon.
